About

First of all, I’d like to say well done for making the decision to seek some help. I hope that doesn’t sound condescending but it’s a big step and I know from first hand experience that asking for help can be really hard. You’ve probably heard lots of people talk about their experiences of therapy. You might have even had therapy before or this might be the first time you’ve been able to admit to yourself that you need some help. Either way, this is an important decision in your life.

It can feel like a very lonely place when you realise that you need help and that this isn’t something you can hide or try to work through by yourself any more. You might have been telling yourself “it’s fine” or “it isn’t a problem” for sometime now but I guess some things happened to make you realise that you might just need someone to talk to. Someone to talk things though with. Someone with experience of helping people with their problems. Someone who can be trusted with something that's personal and private. And this is something I can help you with.

I can give you the safe space you need to express your thoughts and feelings without fear or judgement. I can help you to explore what’s causing the problems in your life and help you move towards managing or resolving them. I can help you develop the skills that lead to healthier life choices and make positive changes in your life.

Hi, I’m Kieran and I’m a counsellor, based in Camborne, Cornwall. I work with people who are feeling overwhelmed, “stuck” or feeling a loss of direction or purpose. Whether it’s a relationship that you’re struggling with, perhaps something happened that’s hard to deal with or you want to make a positive change in your life, I can help you through life's challenges.

Before I became a counsellor I lived a very secretive life; I had friends and family around me that I knew loved me but I never shared with them how I was feeling if I was down and I never asked them for help when I was struggling. I stubbornly refused to give up on things that weren’t important to me and I paid far too much attention to what other people thought. This led me to mistrusting most people and really struggling to understand why I wasn’t happy.

For too long I looked for happiness in all the wrong places. But one day, things changed. I heard a few home truths that I couldn’t ignore any more and slowly, I began my journey back to a place where I didn’t have to worry about upsetting people by saying the wrong thing or having to doggedly carry on with things that I didn’t believe in.

Things got pretty bad for me at times but with the right support, a safe place to work through my insecurities and a little bit of guidance, I’m now able to find myself in a place where I feel optimistic and dare I say it; happy. I’ve learned a lot of things along the way and I’ve learned to apply what I’ve learnt to my own life and I can help you find your way too.

If you want some help with the troubles in your life and need a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
