Counselling is a process of talking about and working through your personal problems. This can include a wide range of stressful or emotional feelings. For example, a client may want to discuss how they feel they have "never lived up to their parents expectations".

I'll provide a safe and confidential environment and help you to address your problems by helping you to clarify the issues and in many cases, see them in a different way, explore options, develop strategies and increase self-awareness, with a goal to facilitating positive change.

Counselling can be useful for anyone who wants to explore the way they're thinking or feeling further, as well as for anyone experiencing a problem or issue they are keen to resolve. People may choose to speak to a counsellor because they feel they cannot speak to their other half/friends/family about such personal issues, or they may simply wish to speak to a professional with an objective viewpoint..

Each session will usually last 50 minutes.

It's hard to say.
Everyone is different and bring their own experiences with them. To give you a ball park idea though, clients do seem to exhibit "signs of change" around the sixth session (and this is where we usually review your progress). Bear in mind that as sessions progress, new issues will more than likely arise and you'll start to see things from other angles that you may want to explore too.

Having said that, you may have something very specific you want to work on and you may find you only need a handful of sessions. It really does depend on you.

The standard format of weekly counselling sessions helps you make gradual and steady progress that means you see real results. In some cases, we might agree to two sessions per week, if we both deem it beneficial and I have the availability.

Yes. Online therapy can be just as effective as face to face.  It's both accessible and convenient and you may feel more comfortable having a session in a place of security and familiarity such as your own home or your office at work.
